Ten years ago, we started with a simple, bold concept: to foster student creativity, empower agency, and absolutely shatter the ceiling of expectations for young people in Doncaster. We launched XP with just four teachers, a handful of staff, and fifty students in a temporary home at the Keepmoat Stadium. Today, we are a Trust of eight academies, all focused on growing character, mastering knowledge and skills, and creating beautiful work.
When we reviewed the achievements of our very first year, one question resonated deeply: "If our pupils could accomplish this much in just one year, what might they achieve after ten?"
This book is the answer.
Produced in proud collaboration with our long-term partners the Edge Foundation, Celebrating 10 Years of Beautiful Work is both a retrospective and a celebration. It documents the setbacks, the successes, and the authentic "beautiful products" our students have crafted - from town guides and documentaries to eco-gardens and charity singles.
This publication is more than just a history; it is a codification of our educational architecture. We designed it to serve as a practical resource and an inspiration for educators, parents, and community builders.
